Georgetown Red Poppy Festival Pageant

Prizes:
- Overall contest with the highest score will receive the title “Miss Red Poppy Festival Queen 2010”, a bouquet of flowers, a beautiful 4” crown, an embroidered sash, and a tall trophy.
- A Queen will be crowned in each age division. Each Queen will receive a tiara, embroidered sash, and trophy.
- Each division will have 1st and 2nd alternate winners. Alternates will receive a sash and trophy.
- One contestant will receive the “Best Red Poppy outfit” award. Winner will receive a sash and a trophy.
- Photogenic winners (one per age division) will receive a sash and a beautiful trophy.
- Best winners (one per age division) will receive a sash and a beautiful trophy.
- ALL Contestants will go home with a goodie bag!
- The winners in each category will be recognized in the Red Poppy Festival Parade!
Competition Details:
All contestants will compete in Formal Wear. This is a Natural Pageant.
Formal Wear:
Any color gown may be worn. Flower girl or baby doll dress are appropriate for Baby Miss and Wee Miss categories. We are NOT a glitz pageant so keep the bling minimal. Floor length gowns are required for ages 10 and up. No exceptions.
Makeup During Competition:
Baby Miss, Wee Miss and Tiny Miss: Absolutely no makeup is allowed. If a judge can tell you are wearing makeup, 10 points per judge will be deducted from your score. It is better to play it safe and not wear any makeup at all.
Little Miss and Young Miss: Light blush, powder, mascara and tinted lip gloss is allowed. Keep it fresh and clean.
Teen and Miss: Your makeup should give you a natural, beautiful, flawless look.
***Points are not taken off for braces, eye glasses or facial imperfections***
What Not To Wear:
- Heavy makeup, glitzed outfits, wigs, fake nails (little miss and under), gloves, purses, hats, parasols, body or hair glitter, visible body piercing or tattoos, feathers, flowers, corsages, trains, big sleeves, or large ruffles.
- Photogenic Photos MUST be 5″ x 7″ or 8″ x 10″. Color or black and white. NO GLITZ pictures. Mark photos on the back with name and age prior to registration.
Contestants will compete as of age day of pageant. No fallbacks allowed. - We are looking for all natural kids with confidence, poise and personality.
- We require good sportsmanship of all contestants, family and friends. Those not displaying good sportsmanship will be disqualified and no score given.
- Scores will be computer tabulated by our auditor. Judges decisions are final. In the event of a tie for the title, Judges will decide the winner.
- A Dressing Area will be available.
- The area in front of the judges will be blocked off for the Pageant Photographer to be able to take photos of the pageant activities.
Tentative Schedule:
9:00 am – 9:45 am: Registration for all ages
10:00 am: Competition begins
